Following these recommendations will help ensure rewards are paid correctly and your participants have a smooth experience.
Before You Launch your Brief
- ✅ Always set up incentives before launching your brief. Rewards added after launch may not be applied to participants who have already completed the activity.
✅ Clearly state the incentive in your brief introduction. Let participants know what they will receive for completing the activity (e.g. Complete this brief and receive a £1 PayPal reward!). This helps increase participation and sets clear expectations.
Reward Setup
- ✅ Use clear reward titles so participants know what they will receive.
- ✅ Use a descriptive internal reward name (including the brief name and market) to make rewards easier to identify later.
- ✅ Select the correct country. An incorrect country selection will prevent rewards from being issued.
- ✅ Reward values are always set up in GBP. If your participants are being paid in another currency, convert the incentive value to the GBP equivalent before creating the reward.
- ✅ If no screening out question under the brief - recommended to add a small budget buffer to your Total Units to cover any additional participants who complete the brief before it fully closes. (set up the required responses under brief).
- ✅ Double-check your reward settings before publishing, including:
- Channel
- Country
- Reward value
- Total budget (Total Units)
- Linked brief(s) - under Requirements session (= brief(s) they will get paid for)
Managing Rewards
- ✅ Use one reward per project. If you need to increase your budget, edit the existing reward and increase the Total Units instead of creating a new reward.
- ✅ For multi-part studies, create one reward only and link all required briefs under the Requirements section. Participants will only be rewarded once they complete every brief linked to the reward set up.
Requires Approval
- ✅ Enable "Requires Approval" for higher-value incentives or tasks that require quality checks (e.g. shopping missions, photo/video submissions or other tasks where responses need reviewing).
- ✅ This ensures only participants who complete the task correctly and meet the required quality standards are rewarded.
Before Publishing
- ✅ Confirm that the reward is correctly linked to your brief before launching.
- ✅ Verify that the reward amount, budget and participant messaging are all correct.
Important
⚠️ Never delete or remove a reward that has already been used or has funds allocated to it.
If you need to stop rewarding participants, change an existing reward, or a reward has been linked to the wrong brief, please contact the Support Team first. They will advise on the correct process and make any required changes to ensure participants continue to be rewarded correctly and no payments are affected.
Need Help?
If you discover an issue after your brief has gone live (for example, missing rewards, incorrect settings, or participants not receiving payments), raise a Support Request as soon as possible. Our team will investigate and help ensure eligible participants receive the correct rewards.
