What is survey logic
Logic can be applied within surveys to create a more relevant and engaging experience for participants.
Instead of showing every participant the same set of questions, the survey can adapt based on:
- previous answers
- selected responses
This allows participants to see only the questions that are relevant to them, helping to:
- improve completion rates
- reduce unnecessary questions
- collect more accurate feedback
- deliver deeper and more actionable insights
How logic works
Logic helps create a smarter and more dynamic survey flow.
For example:
- If a participant gives a certain answer, they can be shown specific follow-up questions.
- If a section is not relevant to them, it can be skipped automatically.
- If a participant does not qualify, the survey can end early.
This ensures participants only see questions that are relevant to them, creating a smoother survey experience.
Logic types
| Logic type | What it does |
|---|---|
| If selected → End-Fail | Ends the survey when a specific answer option is selected. Reward is not paid. |
| If selected → End-Success | Ends the survey successfully when a specific answer option is selected. Reward is paid. |
| If selected → Go to | Routes participants to another question when a specific answer option is selected. |
| If NOT selected → Go to | Triggers logic when a specific answer option is not selected. Can route participants to another question or end the survey. IMPORTANT – usually set up only for one option – otherwise users must always select all listed options with this logic. |
| Enable Skip Logic to | Routes all participants from the current question to another question, regardless of answer selection. |
